The
Mongu Diocese was created on June 14, 1997. Up until then, Mongu was part of
the Livingstone Diocese. The first bishop of the Diocese of Mongu, Paul Duffy,
O.M.I., received his Episcopal ordination on August 31, 1997 who passed away in
2011. The current is Bishop Evans Chinyama Chinyemba OMI.
